East Cambridgeshire Green Party believes human activity is threatening the well-being of the environment on which we depend.
Conventional politics has failed to respond to these threats. Affiliated to the Green Party of England Wales, we campaign for radical and urgent action to change the way we live.
Our work is guided by these principles:
Humankind depends for its continued existence on the diversity and sustainability of the natural world.
The Earth's physical resources are finite. We threaten our future if we
try to live beyond those means.
A healthy society is based on co-operation between individuals, free from
discrimination.
Good democracy is about taking decisions at the closest practical level to
those affected by them.
The success of a society cannot be measured by narrow economic indicators
alone, but should take account of factors affecting the quality of life for all people.
We must put changes in both values and lifestyles at the heart of the way
we live.
Further details of our policies and campaigns can be found via the links at the top of this page.
Our objectives
Based on the above principles, we aim to ensure policy and decision-making in East Cambridgeshire is equitable, long-term and ecologically sound. We promote these objectives through awareness-raising in the media, public campaigns, events, and by campaigning for election at district, county and Westminster levels.
